Daily forklift inspections are crucial to ensure the forklift is safe to use and saves time and money.
A pre-start safety check should be completed every time an operator uses a different industrial lift truck and at the beginning of each shift”. Here are some things that your pre-start safety checklist should include.
Working with a certificate
Personnel driving forklifts must be professionally trained, and have passed the assessment of relevant departments and issued a valid driver's license before they can drive forklifts.
Check the forklift indicator lights and horns
Check whether the reversing lights, headlights and turn signals of the forklift are in good condition; Press the horn before driving to make sure it sounds.
Check the forklift speed limiter
Check whether the movement of the mechanical throttle control line is smooth;
Check whether the link between the speed limiter central controller and the speed limiter is firm;
Check whether the sockets and brackets between the speed limiter and various parts are firm.
check the forklift battery
Check whether the forklift is leaking or lacking liquid;
Check the battery for corrosion, and replace it in time if it is damaged.
Check the forklift gantry
Check whether the gantry is deformed, and correct it if it is deformed; Check whether the door frame is loose, if it is loose, it needs to be reinforced.
Check forklift tires
Check the tire pressure, if the pressure is insufficient, inflate it in time;
Check the tires for air leakage and puncture;
Check tires for wear and scratches.
check the hydraulic oil
Check whether the hydraulic oil of the forklift is lacking, and refuel in time if there is a lack; When checking the hydraulic oil, it is only accurate when the forklift is not started. Usually, the oil tank vent hole is about 50mm away from the upper plane of the oil tank when the fork is in the lowest position.
Start the forklift
Hold the steering wheel handle with the left hand, turn the power supply with the right hand, and pull up the switch handle; Insert the forklift key into the key hole of the start switch, turn it slightly to the right and start the engine.
Engine Startup Inspection
Check whether the fuel gauge is normal; Check whether the water temperature gauge is normal. The normal water temperature is 75-85 degrees Celsius. If the water temperature is low, check which part of the forklift has a problem; Check the oil pressure gauge, the normal pressure level is 0.2Mpa, and the pressure level at slow speed is 0.05Mpa. If the oil pressure is low or there is no pressure, it is forbidden to use the forklift. Check and troubleshoot before using it.
forklift start
The driver observes that there are no obstacles, people and other objects around to avoid collision; Press the horn to remind the surrounding to start slowly.
