Why do more and more companies choose electric hydraulic forklifts?

Most early forklifts were internal combustion engines running on propane or gasoline (also called IC, Gas, and LP forklifts). Starting in the 1950s, battery-powered forklifts began to replace gasoline-powered forklifts as an alternative. Many users choose to replace them because these new forklifts can be charged, they do not produce hazardous emissions, and they have sufficient power. Recently, the invention of lithium-ion batteries has added a whole new dimension of efficiency to electric forklifts.

The hourly operating cost of an electric forklift is lower than any gas forklift model available on the market today. This is mainly due to fuel costs and reduced maintenance and parts costs.

Electro-hydraulic forklifts are mainly powered by large and heavy lead-acid batteries, which are the same as the batteries in your car, but are larger and more powerful. The battery usually provides enough power for a standard 8-hour shift, which means that the battery forklift can be used continuously for 5 or 6 hours. On the other hand, internal combustion engines use multiple fuels: gasoline, diesel, liquid propane gas (LPG) or compressed natural gas (CNG). The fuel cost required to power these forklifts is significantly higher than electricity.

You may have questions: how about charging and replacing the battery? In the past, many buyers avoided using battery forklifts because they did not want to deal with the cost and time of battery replacement for electric hydraulic forklifts, but the situation has changed a lot in recent years. Most single and double shifts (and most three-shift operations) never require battery replacement. This is because the new battery charging technology allows you to quickly charge the battery while resting.

Compared with fuel costs, electric forklifts require less maintenance and parts. On average, they have 90% fewer parts than internal combustion parts, so maintenance is easier and repair costs lower.

Therefore, electro-hydraulic forklifts have fewer regular maintenance intervals and spend more time in production operations. Electric motors are highly reliable, partly because of fewer frictional parts and partly because of advanced electrical technology. One of the main advantages of battery forklifts is that they can continue to operate and can be easily repaired through battery maintenance schedules and regular cleaning.

The tire is the only connection point between the forklift and the road. It not only bears the entire weight of the forklift and the weight of the cargo, but also responds to driving actions such as steering, acceleration and braking, and absorbs the impact of the road on the vehicle. Especially in winter when the ground is slippery, tires are crucial to driving safety and cannot be ignored!
